** N.B. No sessions on 2nd & 9th November 2022 – instead, join us on 9th November for ATTEND – Artists In Conversation **
Quilt Club is a space to sew, learn and connect.
Whether you’re a sewing newbie, master quilt maker or just fancy a bowl of soup and a chat- join us for an informal session on Wednesdays from 5pm onwards.
· Share sewing & quilting skills- machine and hand sewing
· Repurpose old clothes and bed linen
· Meet folk and get the craic
The sessions will take place in Fèis Rois’ office. Our doorway is just to the left of Specsavers. There will be free tea, biscuits and soup on offer. Sessions will run 5-9pm on Wednesdays- you can drop in and out, or stay for the whole session- it’s up to you.
Lauren will be there to show you the basics if you’re new to sewing, and we have a bunch of lovely quilting books for inspiration and tips. We have a couple of sewing machines, lots of recycled fabrics, and everything else you need to start learning. If you have your own machine and you’re able to, feel free to bring it along.
Transport & parking
The closest car park is Dingwall Town Centre parking, beside Poundstretchers. We are a 5 min walk from Dingwall train station, 2 mins from bus stop by the Royal Hotel or 4 mins from the Tesco bus stop.
If you want to drop your sewing machine off at the door before re-parking, drive into the pedestrianised area of the High Street and stop outside Specsavers in the loading bay. Lauren can help you upstairs with it.
There are 2 disabled parking bays approximately 7- 10m from our door. The Town Centre car park by Poundstretchers is approx. 60m away.
The space is up one flight of 19 stairs. It is a straight staircase with 16 steps, then a small landing before another 3 steps.
There are 2 gender-neutral toilets on the same level as the space, with a toilet and wash basin in each cubicle. The right-hand cubicle has a bin inside and sanitary items are available.
A small room is available for quiet time/ breastfeeding etc. There is a microwave available to heat milk/ baby food.
The main space has 2 sofas, and a variety of tables and chairs. Most of our lighting is currently florescent strip lighting- please let us know if this is an issue for you and we can create a small area lit by lamps instead. Sewing machines may be quite noisy.
The soup will be vegan. Non-dairy milk will be available. If you have food allergies, please let us know and we can accommodate.
If we can support your access in any way, please let us know how. Contact Lauren by email or on 07842 764 802.
