From 6th July, Quilt Club will be run by Jo & Tracy. It now has it’s own Facebook group, where future updates will be found. They now request £3 donation per session.
Quilt Club is a space to sew, learn and connect.
Whether you’re a sewing newbie, master quilt-maker or just fancy a cup of tea and a chat- join us for an informal session on Thursdays from 5pm onwards.
· Share sewing & quilting skills- machine and hand sewing
· Repurpose old clothes and bed linen
· Meet folk and get the craic
The sessions will take place in Temperance House (Sheila’s Café), Tulloch St, Dingwall. There will be free tea & coffee on offer, and you can bring biscuits/ snacks. Sessions will run 5-9pm on Thursday- you can drop in and out, or stay for the whole session- it’s up to you.
Folk will be there to show you the basics if you’re new to sewing, and we have a bunch of lovely quilting books for inspiration and tips. We have a couple of basic sewing machines, lots of recycled fabrics, and everything else you need to start learning. If you have your own machine and you’re able to, feel free to bring it along.
Transport & parking
Temperance House is the white-fronted building, formerly the “Drop-in Youth Kafe”, next to Dryburgh Cycles.
Parking in available on Tulloch St, right across the road from Temperance House. It is unmetered from 6pm (and 1 hour free before then- so you can park from 5pm).
The closest car park is Cromartie Car Park (with the obelisk). We are a 5 min walk from Dingwall train station, 2 mins from bus stop by the Royal Hotel or 4 mins from the Tesco bus stop.
Access info
There is a dropped kerb by Temperance House, in front of Dryburgh Cycles, and directly across the road from there by the parking bays.
The space we use is on the ground floor. There are single sex toilets and a gender-neutral + disabled toilet on the same level as the space. Baby changing facilities are available, and babes in arms welcome. Lighting is florescent strip lighting.
